CLASSES  TAKE PLACE IN GODALMING, SURREY

FROM 10AM TO 2PM

AT THE FARNCOMBE DAY CENTRE, ST JOHN'S ROAD GU7 3EJ

INDIVIDUAL OR PAIRED WORK STATIONS.

EACH STUDENT WILL COOK ENOUGH FOR TWO PEOPLE SO THEY CAN TAKE THE FOOD HOME TO ENJOY.

You will learn the art of curry making as I learned from my mum and grandmother.  Suitable for all levels as we will be sharing the secrets of Nawabi and Moghul cooking, the easy way.

Classes in 2025 are focusing on the basic blending techniques to make four different styles of delicious quick and easy dishes. You will be able to customise the techniques I teach to a wide variety of curries and ingredients.

Learning the 'art' is simply not the same as merely following a recipe. I will help you to develop your intuition!

You will learn how to cook:

Hyderabadi Chicken or Parsnip curry

Aloo Palak (potatoes and spinach)

Baghari Daal

Karachi Courgette

Peas Pilau Rice with Cumin

Although I use slow cooking techniques for many of my curries, there are some wonderful curries that can be made quickly and simply.  My mum showed me that quicker methods don’t have to compromise on taste and depth. She used her 'zaika' (taste) and I will pass that art on to you – the exact timing, the spice blending and the stages involved in making a fabulous tasting curry!

Later I will be introducing traditional slow cook classes with  biriyanis, dopiaza and other advanced dishes. These are

traditional, layering methods which very few people practise nowadays.  Restaurant cooking is the complete opposite of

classical Indian cooking by the way!
